On Saturday in France a man with a knife killed one and injured four more. Police arrived at the scene and shot the assailant which later killed him. The Associate Press first reported on the incident in France with only the information that the stabbing spree had happened as it seems no other information was yet known.
New information has been revealed, however, about eye-witness accounts that claim the mass-stabber repeatedly yelled “Allahu Akbar” while stabbing his victims. CBS News, CNN, and The Independent (among other outlets) have substantiated the claims.
ISIS has since taken credit for the attacks, saying in a statement that the man who carried out the attacks was a soldier of the caliphate, though ISIS seems to be taking credit for more and more attacks that cannot be directly tied to them.
