2024 UK Eelection Results Seats vs Votes

The Labour Party won the 2024 United Kingdom General Election winning 412 of the 650 House of Commons seats. Sir Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. A large Labour parliamentary majority was always expected. The defeated Conservative Government was not wiped out winning 121 seats and will become the Official Opposition. Reform leader Nigel Farage was elected in Clacton but Reform only won 5 seats, the Greens won 4. The Liberal Democrats won 71 seats with leader Sir Ed Davey’s election stunts paying off. The biggest and most alarming result was the election of five pro-Gaza independent MPs and came 2nd to Labour in 3 other seats.

In some polls, Reform pulled ahead of the Conservatives but the party vote total was 23.7% for the Conservatives and only 14.3% for Reform. The fact that the Liberal Democrats won 67 more seats than Reform with just 12.2% of the vote is the starkest example of how the UK’s first past the post electoral system is broken with the distorted seat totals vs party vote totals. Labour won a parliamentary landslide with just 33.8% of the party vote. Voter turnout was 59.9% of registered voters down 7.4% from the 2019 general election. This system has led to many voting tactically in their constituency not voting for a candidate they want to put who they believe that candidate will help defeat.

The result is underwhelming for British patriots and those on the dissident right with Reform only winning 5 seats and the Conservatives still winning over 100 seats. The Zero Seats campaign for the Conservatives failed to crash their vote and seat total near extinction levels. The results for the Conservatives mean they will have learnt nothing from this defeat, they will not see the need to merge or join with Reform. They believe they can sit back and watch Keir Starmer and Labour fail and get back into government in 5 years when the next general election is due in 2029.

The One Nation moderate conservatives will claim they must stick to the centre. The right of the party will still believe they can continue to make empty promises on reducing immigration which will continue to be eaten up by voters who forget that they delivered open borders during their 14 years in power. So who becomes the next Conservative Party leader will not reform the party

In the next 5 years Reform needs to move from its current corporate structure and build a community ground operation so that if the voting system doesn’t change to proportional representation they can focus their campaign efforts in seats where they came a close second this election. Resist ditching candidates and volunteers who are labelled racist by the mainstream media. Don’t hire DEI candidates simply to avoid racism accusations. A DEI Prime Minister Rishi Sunak led the Conservatives to their worst result and vote total in centuries.
