Anti-Australian vandals have been on a rampage in 2024 with a series of statues spray painted or sworn down. These vandals have been emboldened because their crimes have gone unpunished with not a single arrest made by authorities.

These statue attacks began on Australia Day Eve in Melbourne when at 3.30am a group of masked vandals sawing off the Statue of Captain James Cook in St Kilda’s Catani Gardens at the ankles with angle grinders and dumped it on the grass in front of the plinth which had the ‘the colony will fall’ written in red spray paint. Victoria Police were called as the vandalism was occurring but failed to arrive to catch them in the act.

That same early morning presumably the same masked group of vandals doused in red paint the Queen Victoria Statue in the nearby Queen Victoria Gardens also writing in red spray paint the ‘colony will fall’.

Two days after Australia Day on January 28 Edinburgh Gardens’ plaque statue of Captain James Cook in Fitzroy North in Inner Melbourne was sawn off and spray painted in red with the words ‘Cook the Colony’

On February 15 a Capitan Cook statue was vandalized in Randwick, Sydney by being doused in red paint and part of the sandstone plinth damaged.

On February 27 the Capitan Cook at Fitzroy Gardens in East Melbourne was cut down with angle grinders at ankles. Though nothing was spray painted on the vandalized statue itself a video released by anti-Australian activists of their crime had in the text “the colony will fall.”

On March 11 The Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial at Anzac Park in Canberra was vandalized with red spray paint with not only an anti-Australian slogan “the colony will fall” but with Pro-Palestinian messages “eyes on Rafah”, “eyes on Gaza”, and “this is genocide”

Most recently on 14 March a Queen Victoria Statue was pulled down in a Park in Geelong, Victoria again with “the colony can fall” sprayed across the plinth.

These vandals are not just emboldened by the lack of police action but by the excusing of their vandalism on social media from those who believe tearing down and defacing a statue you don’t like is not a big deal. Even worse are Councillors like Robbie Nyaguy in Port Phillip and Randwick Mayor Philipa Veitch who by calling for the statues to be removed permanently are essentially rewarding vandalism.

Suzannah Henty an anti-colonial art historian Victoria’s Indigenous truth-telling inquiry that her family’s settler statues in the town of Portland should be removed because they had been spray paint vandalised with the anti-Australian “sovereignty was never ceded”.

The mainstream media reports on the vandalism of these statues in the immediate aftermath and although they do reference previous vandalism they never follow up with the police about the progress of the criminal investigation. There is no sustained media or community pressure to bring these vandals to justice.

The British Australian Community has called these repeated acts of statue vandalism an attack on Australia’s heritage stating “If this level of hatred was being targeted at any other group, there would be no limit to what our politicians and police would do to ensure this never happens again”.

But because anti-whiteism is excused and even supported by Australia’s elites and institutions these acts of vandalism will sadly continue with a congo line of apologists justifying these vandals’ crimes.
