Marxist front group “Community Action for Rainbow Rights” is again planning to take to the streets of Sydney to protest against the bill proposed by One Nation NSW leader Mark Latham that would give parents primacy over teachers when deciding how to teach their children about sex and gender. The group plans a rally and march down Oxford St (surprise!) on the 28th of November.

“Community Action for Rainbow Rights” is a re-branding of a previous campaign group known as “Community Action Against Homophobia” (CAAH). CAAH was originally formed in NSW in 1999, firstly to campaign for a lowering of the New South Wales age of consent laws for gay sex and secondly to shut down university campus meetings by a Catholic ministry group. CAAH was founded by members of the Democratic Socialist Party (a precursor to the Socialist Alliance) but over the years has been effectively taken over by the the “Socialist Alternative” group.

Socialist Alternative are very open about who they are and what they believe. In the first sentence of the first paragraph of their Statement of Principles they proclaim: “Socialist Alternative is a revolutionary Marxist organisation”. Despite the stench of a hundred million corpses over the past century they still consider communism to be a good idea and want to give it another go to see if they can get it right this time.

At the last event held by “Community Action for Rainbow Rights” against Latham’s bill earlier this month the organisers deliberately breached COVID restrictions. This resulted in the amusing sight of a dozen crying leftists in rainbow masks being detained and fined by police. As COVID restrictions have eased this time is likely to be far less dramatic, but no less fiery.

Socialist Alternative protest against mark latham
The last CARR protest against Mark Latham. The organisers said this was 500 people.

Mark Latham’s Bill promises to amend various bits of legislation to ensure that schools are forced to recognise parents as the ones primarily responsible for “the development and formation of moral and ethical standards and social and political values in their children”. The extreme left does not like this at all. Not one little bit. They would prefer teachers and not parents have the right to teach children what is right and what is wrong, what is truth and what is lies.

And that’s because the Marxists of Australia know that the strongholds of the extreme left in Australia are the universities, and in particular the humanities faculties where most teachers are trained. They aren’t stupid, or at least the people who make up the leadership of these groups aren’t stupid. They can recognise a genuine threat to their cause when they see it.

They don’t want people like you to be able to teach your children what to believe about the world. They’d much prefer it if you just paid the taxes to fund people like them to do it instead. Mark Latham has threatened this arrangement and that is why they and their useful rainbow-bedecked imbeciles are pissed off.

Long may Mr Latham continue to irritate them.
