Jock Palfreeman and Greens Senator

Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi is set to speak at a Socialist Alliance organised protest in favour of cowardly anarchist murderer Jock Palfreeman outside Sydney Town hall next Thursday.

A self-proclaimed anarchist and former Sydney private school boy, Palfreeman is being held in an immigration centre near Sofia, Bulgaria after serving only 11 years of a 20-year sentence for the unprovoked stabbing murder of an unarmed Bulgarian man with a butterfly knife. The Bulgarian prosecutor-general is attempting to overturn the parole granted to the Australian murderer two weeks ago, amidst understandable public backlash against the decision in the lead-up to vital elections in the country later this month.

Greens Senator
Jock Palfreeman. Rich kid. Anarchist. Probable sociopath. Cowardly murderer.

The event at which Faruqi will speak is being organised by Pip Hinman. Ms Hinman is a Marxist activist of almost 30 years’ standing who has not only served in the leadership of the Socialist Alliance but in that of its predecessor organisation the Democratic Socialist Party. Ms Hinman has been an active member of far-left extremist groups as far back as the late 80s and is a stalwart of the Sydney far-left extremist scene. There is absolutely no way that Senator Faruqi would be unaware of her history or her views.

This is only the latest in a long line of extremist associations by the Pakistani-born Greens Senator for NSW.

Greens Senator
Mehreen Faruqi. Greens Senator. Supporter of bringing cowardly murderers back to Australia.

In May this year, Faruqi spoke at a public protest against Mark Latham organised by Socialist Alternative, a group that wants to violently overthrow the government and implement a totalitarian socialist state. At the event she spoke alongside Hersha Kadkol, a well known Socialist Alternative activist.

The Senator also shared a podium with Ms Kadkol earlier this year during an anti-Israel protest outside the Opera House and spoke alongside Ms Kadkol at a Socialist Alternative-organised event protesting the Ramsay Centre at the University of Sydney in late October last year.

Senator Faruqi was instrumental in the victory of the extreme Marxist-friendly “Eastern Bloc” faction in the recent great NSW Greens civil war when she switched sides at a critical moment, thus dooming the moderate faction of Jeremy Buckingham. It is presumed that she did this in exchange for Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon prematurely standing down to allow Ms Faruqi to take up her Senate position, but her recent associations with extremists and support for an extremist murderer may indicate a change in political sympathies as well.

The associations of his Greens Senator mother with a campaign to support a murderer, run by people who want to overthrow the government and implement a totalitarian state, also calls into question the political sympathies of her son Osman Faruqi and whether it is appropriate for him to continue his current employment with the public broadcaster.

Anarchism is the most extreme political current active in our society today. The adherents of this philosophy believe that almost everyone who disagrees with them is a fascist and that killing “fascists” is always morally justified. That’s why Australian anarchists have been cheering Jock Palfreeman on these past 11 years. In their eyes, attacking an unarmed stranger and stabbing him to death is not only entirely justified, but heroic. Palfreeman claims his victim was a “fascist” and that he was saving some “Roma” (gypsies) who were under attack.

This fantasy is somewhat undermined by the fact that his victim Andrei Monov was not a “fascist” but rather the son of a prominent local leftist, that no Roma youth have ever come forward to corroborate his story, that Jock’s friends who supposedly witnessed the event have refused to back him up (even after fleeing the country), that he lied to police after being arrested, that he said he stabbed his victim in the chest when the only wounds were in his back, and that Palfreeman has been accused of a previous unprovoked stabbing attack at a party in Sydney that hospitalised a man years before he even travelled overseas.

Even the recently released CCTV footage that Palfreeman claims supports his absurd story of self-defence does no such thing. Jock was carrying a large butterfly knife while drunk in a tourist town and stabbed a local to death before lying about it. The idea that he can play hero shows just how warped and perverted the public discourse is in our country.

Anarchism is not a legitimate political ideology and should not be treated as such. It is alarming in the extreme to see a Greens Senator like Faruqi moving closer to this viewpoint. It is even more alarming that nobody in the media will call her out for publicly supporting a man who openly admits (even in his own dubious version of the story) that he murdered a stranger for political reasons. Jock Palfreeman is a murdering sociopath who uses any excuse to justify his crimes. That an Australian Senator would support him is horrific.

The Greens once shied away from openly endorsing extremist violence. It’s concerning in the extreme that this no longer seems to be the case.
