Islamic Council of Victoria has Received $2.4 Million Tax-Payer Dollars since 2010

After a government investigation into the Islamic Council of Victoria was made public due to a freedom of information request, is has been revealed that the group has received millions of dollars in government grants.

It first came to light that the ICV was looking for funding to create what are referred to as “safe-spaces” or “rage areas” where Muslim youth would be free to express radical views without facing push-back. This lead to the investigation that showed that government funding made up more that half of the group’s operating budget.

The report also revealed that the funds were destined to rage zones, youth empowerment, as well as a significant amount of money being use for general administration.
