BREAKING

Anti-Islam and British values campaigner Tommy Robinson has been released on bail after his conviction for contempt of court in Leeds has been overturned. He will still face a re-trial of the Leeds case where he was filming outside a Muslim grooming gang back in May.

There are no bail conditions other than attending the new trail. The overturning of the conviction was made by Lord Chief Justice Burnett and Mrs Justice McGowan.

The story was broken by The Unshackled’s UK affiliate Politicalite. Tommy’s official Facebook page said: “He is coming home! Thank you to everyone who has supported Tommy. We will have an update from him as soon as he walks through the gate today!” and it was “Good news that they have agreed that the original trial was, in fact, a kangaroo court and prejudiced against Tommy.”

Tommy’s former employer Rebel Media chief Ezra Levant who had been covering Tommy’s appeal from London tweeted the good news

The Free Tommy movement had exploded on streets worldwide including here in Australia with rallies in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. But none were as large and as vocal as those in the United Kingdom’s itself.

The freeing of Tommy is a significant victory for free speech in the United Kingdom and a sign that not all hope is lost for the nation to stop the twin paths of Islamism and totalitarianism it has been on.
