On our first ever Rant Show, where a a single topic is discussed at length and all the facts explored in detail, the subject matter is the recent turmoil in the Victorian Liberal Party. Incumbent State Party President Michael Kroger is being challenged by former Howard Government Minister Peter Reith.
We go into the detail about the history of Michael Kroger, his alliances over the years and his style of political operation. We highlight the key issues that have got him into this current situation since he returned to the Presidency in 2015. We also tell the story of the emerging power couple in the Victorian Liberal Party Marcus Bastiaan and Stephanie Ross who are recruiting new conservatives into the party which critics say branch stacking including some personal dealings we’ve had with them.
We then lay down what are the key issues both the Kroger and Reith camps are pitching to the party membership and which political figures are on which team. We then outline our preference for who should be the victor and what really needs to be done in the Victorian Liberal Party for conservatives to have a voice.
