In health news, it’s the first birthday of the Omicron variant with its grandchildren and cousins now the current covid variants in circulation. Australians who suffered covid vaccine injuries are struggling to get compensation from the federal government’s scheme. Senators Gerard Rennick, Alex Antic, Matt Canavan and Ralph Babet signed a motion for the government to produce its covid vaccine contracts with big pharma. There is an alt-media war in NZ with Sean Plunket founder of the Platform shutting down callers who question the covid vaccines and the World Economic Forum and being called out on it by Cam Slater of the BFD. The Ardern Government has revealed its hate speech laws upgrade. The proposed legislation will only protect religions (racial vilification laws already exist) so nothing for LGBT. The NZ Media Council rules against Stuff for biased coverage of the trans agenda but their Climate change propaganda was ruled okay. Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has disrupted Ardern’s Christchurch Call censorship partnership with the platform.

The NZ Reserve Bank Governor Adrian Orr has increased interest rates by 0.75% promising more rate rises in the next 3 months. It is part of the RBNZ’s ”planned” recession next year and 8-9% mortgage rates are possible by late next year, they are Currently 6-7%. NZ’s crime wave continues with multiple stabbings over the past week including the death of a Sandringham dairy owner this week. Other dairy owners are installing bars to protect their businesses.

Victoria’s state election day is tomorrow with polls closing at 6pm though many have Victorians already propelled. Polls show the major parties’ primary votes are in the 30s though Dan and Labor are still ahead two-party preferred. The result could be a hung parliament with Labor-Greens minority thanks to the Liberals putting Labor last preferencing strategy. Dan didn’t even vote in his own seat of Mulgrave, Independent Ian Cook could unseat Dan. The Sky News People’s forum between Dan Andrews and Matthew Guy with undecided voters was very dull. The Upper House is where the anti-lockdown freedom parties have the best chance of being elected to block Government legislation.

In other election side news, VicRoads canceled a man’s Dan Out numberplates deeming them ‘offensive’. Basketball legend Andrew Bogut was fact-checked by RMIT for posting from the Vic Education website about schools being able to transition your child without your consent. Following a 60 Minutes hit piece on her father’s City Builders Church Liberal candidate Renee Health says she’s not a bigot and does not support gay conversion therapy.

In Australian federal politics, the report by former High Court Justice Virginia Bell on the Scott Morrison secret ministries was released today, she concluded that his actions were corrosive of trust in government. Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neill has met with Western Sydney Mayors outraged about the repatriation of the ISIS brides from Syria to their areas. The Senate voted to restore Territory rights to legalize euthanasia. The Albanese Government wants to get its multi-employer bargaining legislation passed by Christmas. Teal Senate crossbencher David Pocock wants more small businesses to be exempt. The legislation only covers businesses with 15 employees or fewer.

The NZ Supreme Court ruled that not allowing 16-year-olds to vote is incompatible with the nation’s Bill of Rights. Teal Independent MP Monique Ryan wants 16-year-olds to be able to vote in Australia.
