Candidate nominations have closed for the Victorian state election on November 26. Early voting commences Monday. The Liberals are behind a put Labor last ad and might preference Greens ahead of Labor in inner-city seats. Kim Jong-un Impersonator Howard X is running against Dan Andrews in his seat of Mulgrave promising to bring back extreme covid zero lockdowns.
New photos and the police report from the Catherine Andrews car collision with a cyclist in 2013 were released by the Herald Sun. This follows their front page that revealed Dan only fell down two steps when he broke his back in 2021. Dan is now facing a 5th IBAC anti-corruption probe on the red shirts electorate officer rort in the 2014 state election. The polls have somewhat tightened but Dan is still in an election-winning lead.
The candidates have been declared for the by-election in Hamilton West on December 10. New Conservative and ONE NZ are running a joint campaign behind the one socially conservative candidate. Greens Senator Sarah Hanson Young got triggered by the term grooming. The NZ Midwifery Council has removed the words ‘women’ and ‘mother’ from their materials. Wokeness in education is expanding.
We finish the show by discussing the US mid-term results which held mixed messages. Florida is a solidly based conservative state with Governor Ron DeSantis winning re-election in a landslide. Arizona is taking a week to count their votes so Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is behind. Democrats seem to win with cognitively challenged candidates with John Fetterman winning in Pennsylvania.
