In response to the removal of Israel Folau’s GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his legal battle against Rugby Australia, the Australian Christian Lobby has created their own campaign to raise money for the sacked rugby star over his sinner Instagram post.

In less than 24 hours more than 1.2 million dollars has been raised out of the $3 million goal. It is already higher than the $750000 that was raised by the GoFundMe campaign before its removal. The ACL itself has donated $100000.

The controversy surrounding the GoFundMe campaign has sparked a discussion amongst the mainstream media and the left revolving around the monitoring of crowdfunding sites and big tech. Many other Australians claiming that the crowdfunding giant’s actions are an “attack on freedom of speech.”

Despite the supposed backlash of Folau asking the public for funds, the donation figures speak for themselves and demonstrates he will be well represented in his lawsuit against Rugby Australia.
