Show Description
Gigi Foster has co-authored two books on the covid pandemic response: the Great Covid Panic and Do lockdowns and border closures serve the “greater good”? A cost-benefit analysis of Australia’s reaction to COVID-19. She is a Senior Scholar at the Brownstone Institute founded in 2021 by libertarian author and commentator Jeffrey Tucker.
Using inputs such as international development goals, wellbeing and quality of life metrics and excess deaths Gigi calculated that Australia’s covid response cost 68 more times than the benefits they delivered. To avoid a repeat when the next pandemic inevitably breaks out Gigi advocates reform of our scientific, government and health institutions.
