Spring Street Melbourne on Saturday saw TERFdom, Roman Salutes and Reg Flags. On this Tim’s News Explosion I analyze what I observed on the ground at the Let Women Speak event and look at the political aftermath.

Kellie-Jay Keen’s Let Women Speak Melbourne event on the steps of Victoria’s Parliament House saw mainly second-wave feminists speak rather than traditionalist conservative women. Present was Shelia Jeffries an advocate of political lesbianism as a way to fight the patriarchy. They’ve been labelled as TERFs trans-exclusionary radical feminists a name they now embraced.
The Socialist Alternative’s main protest point was opposite the steps of Parliament on Bourke Street. Some who came down from Victoria Gardens in Carlton later moved behind the rest and tried to breach police lines. Two of them grabbed the microphone and were dragged away by security. Three socialists were charged for violent conduct by Victoria Police.
20 National Socialist Network members appeared with their sign ‘Destroy Pedo Filth’. Thomas Sewell gave his own speech against communists and all LGBT people. They then walked past the Socialists and gave the Nazi salute, they were followed by former Animal Justice MLC Andy Meddick who yelled abuse at them. Some conservatives online have falsely claimed the NSN members were paid actors from Antifa or Victoria Police. Nick McKenzie doxxed another NSN member on Saturday Nathan Bull who was unmasked along with Sewell and Jimone Roberts.
In the political aftermath, the Victorian Government announced plans to ban the Nazi salute and Victorian Liberal Leader John Pesutto announced he would put forward a motion to expel Liberal MLC Moria Deeming for being part of the Let Women Speak event. He has claimed Kellie-Jay has links with neo-nazis and white supremacists. Kellie-Jay responded to these accusations in an interview with Avi Yemini that she hopes Pesutto has a good lawyer.
There has also been fallout in the Victorian Greens with former member Nina Vallins a TERF who attended on Saturday attacking the party for failing to suspend or expel a transgender member Bianca Haven for social media posts defending pedophilia and sympathising with Nazis.
In other news, the new Dutch farmers’ party could topple the current federal government. The party was formed to oppose nitrogen fertilizer restrictions which would cripple the country’s agriculture output. Credit Suisse bank has received an indirect bailout from the Swiss Government as the woke banking crisis goes global after the US Government takeover of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
The NSW state election is this Saturday with Liberal Premier Dom Perrottet up against it in his re-election campaign with Labor Opposition Leader Chris Minns the favourite to win. Mark Latham’s One Nation is predicted to win the balance of power in the Upper House. The Unshackled will be broadcasting an election night live stream when the polls close at 6pm AEDT.
