It was an event-packed weekend in Melbourne. I attended the opening night of the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) on Saturday, my train was full of Guns N Roses fans seeing their concert at the MCG. The first release revealed the former Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust at Twitter Vijaya Gadde spearheaded the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 Presidential election. Gadde did this behind the back of former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Gadde in 2021 was appointed an adviser to the Department of Homeland Security’s misinformation and disinformation taskforce.
Sam Bankman-Fried proceeded with a New York Times speaking event. He claimed that FTX US was solvent and that customers would be able to withdraw their money soon. He received a standing ovation from the event audience.
