Dan Andrews has told us Melbourne is back and it certainly is as criminals are once again rampaging through the city in a horror crime surge. On Friday night Zain Khan drove and crashed his mum’s car into a tram stop in Bourke Street killing a 76-year-old driver and injuring three pedestrians. Victoria Police have charged Khan with one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder, three counts of intentionally causing serious injury and two counts of conduct endangering life. His mum said he suffered from mental illness and stopped taking his meds. It is 4th deadly attack with a vehicle in the Melbourne CBD in 6 years.
On Saturday morning Melbourne criminal Gavin Preston was assassinated at a cafe in Keilor East sparking fears of another gangland war. Victoria Police still have the power to hire another Lawyer X to inform on gangland clients. A man was stabbed by three men in the food court of Westfield Doncaster and who were caught, charged and then bailed. Two teens have been charged over the robbing and abduction of a Glen Huntly teenager who was thrown from a moving car. Last night four teens were arrested for a carjacking in Melbourne’s north. The Andrews Government is pursuing bail reform which would reverse the presumption against bail.
More polls were released this week on the Voice from Essential, Redbridge, Freshwater and Resolve all indicating a majority no vote. Noel Pearson still claims it is inconceivable that the unrequited love Aboriginals have for Australians will be slapped away. There are over 40,000 Aboriginal land claims in NSW on crown land.
