Unshackled Correct! Sri Lanka Govt CONFIRMS “Small” Extremist Jihadist Group Behind Blasts
Yesterday The Unshackled published an article “Islamic Group “National Thowheed Jamath” Probably Behind Easter Chuch Bombings- AFP report shows” which has now been vindicated by the Sri Lanka Government. The Jihadist group National Thowheed Jamath is now the major lead in the investigation.

During a press conference, which you can read more about HERE, Sri Lanka’s Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said “There had been several warnings from foreign intelligence agencies about the impending attacks at a press conference in Colombo. Persons named in intelligence reports are among those arrested. Some named in the reports had died during attacks.”
Even the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said in an address to the nation late Sunday that the authorities had received warnings but “not enough attention had been paid” to intelligence reports.
He confirmed it in a tweet of the report:
One of his cabinet ministers, Harin Fernando, tweeted an internal police memo dated April 11 warning a group called National Thowheed Jamath planned to bomb Catholic churches and the Indian High Commission.
National Thowheed Jamath is a little-known Islamist extremist group. It has flown under the radar for a long time. Apparently, this Islamist
extremist group may have had “international support” in carrying out a wave of suicide bombings across Sri Lanka which left 310 dead and about 500 people injured.
During the Sri Lankan military mop-up operations, they uncovered 87 low explosive detonators abandoned at a bus stand in the Pettah area of the capital on Monday.
