A man, who was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death, was sentenced to three years jail in Kalgoorlie this afternoon. This was over the August 2016 death of Aboriginal teen Elijah Doughty, for which the man who cannot be named for legal reasons crashed into Doughty when he was chasing him, attempting to retrieve his stolen motorbike.

Despite the fact the man was charged by police initially with manslaughter (which he was found not guilty of) and will spend three years behind bars, race baiters and Black Lives Matter agitators in Australia are attempting to stir civil unrest in Kalgoorlie, and of course rage about white racism in Australia because the driver was white.

So far, it’s only protests on the streets of Kalgoorlie demanding justice be done (I thought justice is what just happened?). It makes you wonder though what these protestors and the left believe to be an appropriate punishment. By the looks of their actions and rhetoric they would only be satisfied with a public hanging in the streets of Kalgoorlie.

When the Doughty’s death first occurred, Kalgoorlie endured a day of rioting even though the justice system was already in full swing. We learned today that the driver had had his house burned down and his wife and children had to be moved outside of Western Australia for safety reasons. He was also very remorseful about what had happened.

There were the usual claims that if Doughty had been white the verdict and sentence would have been higher, well we can probably be sure there would be less mob violence. Doughty, although his death is a tragedy, was not completely innocent, after all he was being chased because he had stolen a very expensive motorbike from the man.

The man was found guilty by a jury who would have carefully considered all of the evidence and were under direction from a judge who was responsible for the sentencing. It is hard to imagine jurors during their deliberations thinking that because Doughty was Aboriginal his life was worth less and one can hardly accuse our judicial system with some of the sentences it hands out of being racist.

The mainstream media also should come under scrutiny following the verdict. Many of the headlines stated that the man had been found not guilty of manslaughter. This misled the public and it would appear the media was wanting to enrage leftists to imply the man had got off scot free. When in fact the headline should have been the man was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death.

This whole episode is a complete tragedy for all parties. But the last thing we and a town like Kalgoorlie need is racially incited violence encouraged by the media and leftist regressives. The justice system on balance worked, your race baiting will only lead to more tragedy.
