The perpetrator also has a history of violence, mental health issues and drug usage, he was charged last weekend with assault charges

A major incident is underway in the Melbourne CBD after a car has mounted the footpath and struck multiple pedestrians, several are believed to be critical including a baby. Shots have been fired. Major parts of the CBD are in lockdown.
The Herald sun is reporting that one man who wishes not to be named saw a red commodore mount the Bourke street footpath near Elizabeth street whilst being pursued by Police. The man said he saw at least 20 bodies strewn across the footpath and feared at least one might be dead.
As shown in the picture below a pram has been hit during the incident, no information on the health of the baby at this stage.
