Actor Forced to Apologise For Criticising BLM, Liking Trump and Shapiro Tweets

The “progressive” elites of Hollywood’s United Church of Liberalism consider themselves the champions of tolerance and diversity in our postmodern society. Frequently, however, they expose themselves as exactly the kind of Orwellian thought police which they are desperate to convince us they have been #resisting since November 2016.
Last month, a Netflix star of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Israel Broussard, was made to apologise for, in addition to one 2011 tweet which actually was racist, criticising Black Lives Matter and expressing right-wing sentiments.
The Daily Beast’s Amy Zimmerman lays out the case against this heinous bigot;
“While Broussard appears to have deleted some of his offensive posts, one particularly vile archived tweet from July 2011 reads, “Dogs can sense earthquakes. Too bad Japan ate them all.” … In 2009, he allegedly wrote, “I’m not going out for a gay role, thank you though.” A 2016 post says, “Black Lives Matter has one goal. Division.” and “hashtags don’t f***ing matter. but all lives do. black lives matter. white lives matter. police lives matter.” Another alleged 2016 tweet reads, “if it were trumps emails, they’d be happy to hang him on the front lawn of the White House.”

“But while those tweets are bad enough,” Zimmerman scolds, “Broussard’s likes were apparently even messier.
“Shared screenshots show that his recent likes included Trump and Rubio tweets, and multiple gems from Ben Shapiro, such as: ‘The travel ban is not Japanese internment. Immigration enforcement is not Nazi Germany. READ A F***ING BOOK.’”
And here we get beyond the 2011 tweet to the real crux of the left’s issue; Israel Broussard is a filthy unwashed right-wing person initiated into Hollywood; a trespasser in the Church of Liberalism. How did he make it through the gatekeepers?!?!
“i am deeply sorry for my inappropriate and insensitive words and likes on social media.”
“I take full responsibility for my actions and I sincerely apologize. This has been a pivotal life lesson for me. I am dedicated to becoming a more informed and educated version of myself.”

I think I’m going to be sick.
I agree that an apology was necessary for the 2011 tweet as it genuinely crossed a line. But the problem with this kind of Twitter dogpiling is just the absurd scope of it. When you give the left an inch they take a mile, and there is now cultural precedent to the idea that social media posts that we ‘like’ are somehow equivalent to our own expression.
Broussard even thanks his fascistic re-educators for sending him to the digital gulag. Stockholm Syndrome, anyone? It may even be better for our movement that these weak-willed people never identify with the right-wing in the first place.
