Man Charged After Throwing Milkshake Over Nigel Farage
A 32-year-old man has been charged with “common assault” and criminal damage after throwing a milkshake (banana and salted caramel) at Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage in Newcastle earlier this week.
Peter Crowther is due to appear in front of the magistrates in North Tynside on June 18th.
The 5 Guys milkshake cup that held the thrown liquid was left on the scene following the incident.
It has been alleged that police have recently ordered a McDonald’s store nearby a past Brexit campaign rally to stop selling milkshakes and ice-cream – an action not taken by Northumbria police at the time of Farage’s assault.
