There are countless examples of postmodernist garbage being taught at our universities. So much of the underwater-basketweaving-tier material they produce has so little (if any) market value and merely serves to produce unemployable ideologues angry that they don’t get paid as much as an engineer.

The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Arts in June hosted a two-day symposium entitled, ‘Unsettling Ecological Poetics‘. The poetry had heavy themes of feminism and LGBT issues thrown in.
Day two was Queer Ecology insisting nature is too heterosexual. This is all post-modernist gibberish masquerading as scholarship. This so-called academic attempts for value are futile and a waste of taxpayers dollars.
The Institute of Public Affairs latest report describes the humanities faculties as “in crisis.” Identity politics and postmodernist thought dominate the humanities.
Universities now seem to be about cleaning any thoughts or beliefs you once had. You must embrace garbage progressive ideology as truth often does not matter to them. It is not about debate, inquiry and reaching a consensus through discussion. You must accept their narrative and ideology in its entirety or you are a bigot.
If universities were indoctrinating our students on National Socialism (Nazism), the police would raid them. They would face legal sanction for inciting violence or for hate speech. Universities are teaching Marxism which was far worse and on a much wider worldwide scale. Marxism is far more damaging and ideologically deadlier.
Politicians and the media are not up for the fight. The teachers union may be too challenging and the campus radicals too tricky.
Reading some academic materials you would think the end of Western civilization is near. With universities operating in sixth gear on identity politics propelling forward towards an intellectual equivalent of a totalitarian state with one left view, maybe we are not far off.
The left media revel in the progressive worldview. The ABC and The Guardian are the most obvious examples. The Guardian newspaper daily fills with: the patriarchy, Australia is appallingly racist, race-baiting, sexism, private schools are a system of the past and is segregation, all big government is good, the workers who built this country are labelled deplorable, sexist, bigoted and dinosaurs. This is a small list.
University civil discourse is declining. Civility is becoming rarer. Modern millennials have more fragile natures. Often mean severe bullying is now cloaked in the language of diversity and tolerance. The term hate speech is now spread so broadly that simply disagreeing is hate speech.
It may be that millennials are unhappier because they are being made to see: racism, sexism, the patriarchy, misogyny, prejudice, or every conceivable wrong the educators tell them about.
Claiming the high pecking order of victimhood can be rewarding and give you an advantage. New inventions of oppression are invented all the time. Progressive university faculties thrive on it.
Dividing people by races, sexual identities and class is a dangerous game. It is, however, an easy sell as it looks for scapegoats or oppressors. It is not my fault You look for perpetrators. Instead of self-reflection, you look to blame.
There is white privilege vs people of colour, masculine vs feminine, credentialed and smart vs illiterate, fertile vs infertile. Natural advantages such as intelligence are seen as oppression. Many millennials now spend a lot of time on social media grievance blogging or having a competition for supreme victim status.
The progressives say they love diversity. So they tell us. But anything slightly right of the centre they go into a meltdown. Increasingly conservative speakers are shut down at universities and trigger warnings were given to students.
The left progressives if they do not shut down a presentation find themselves going back to safe spaces or perhaps even therapy. They retreat into their pretend domains of gender studies, feminism, sexuality studies and so on.
White men who oppose Black Lives Matter for example or modern manifestations of feminism are not Nazis. Anyone who opposes the social justice warriors is now defined as a Nazi.
Our domestic students are being fed garbage at university on the taxpayer dime, when will it end?
