Melbourne Freedom Pre-Election Rallying Cry

Members of the Melbourne Freedom community gathered at Flagstaff Gardens on Saturday afternoon for one final rallying cry before the 2025 Australian Federal Election on Saturday 3rd May.
They heard speeches from Morgan C Jonas, Leader of the Freedom Party of Victoria, Dr Chris Neil, the Lead Victorian Senate Candidate for Gerard Rennick’s People First, Luke from Celebrate Australia and Jordan Dittloff, the Lead Victorian Senate Candidate for the Libertarian Party.
The leader of Melbourne Freedom Rally Harrison McLean who opened and closed the speeches part of the rally has been active on the election campaign trail. He attempted to question Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at a hotel in the Melbourne CBD but was fobbed off and pushed away by his entourage. He also attempted to ask a question of Teal Independent Member for Kooyong Monique Ryan at a refugee forum about her husband tearing down a sign of her Liberal opponent Amelia Hamer.
The rally was attended by only 50 people. But to put this into context, it was an election pre-poll day with many members of the freedom community volunteering for like-minded candidates handing out how-to-vote cards at polling booths. It was also held at the same time as the Women Will Speak Event outside Victoria’s Parliament House, hosted by Women’s Voices Australia (a group which Melbourne Freedom supports).
Transtifa activists who attempted to disrupt Women Will Speak went on their own march through the Melbourne CBD where members of the public who opposed them were attacked as well as Victoria Police officers. Melbourne Freedom Rally marched through a pre-approved route through the CBD after speeches had concluded, but were blocked from marching south of Parliament House by the police mounted unit and the Public Order Response Team because Transtifa were currently occupying that area.
