This attack follows in the footsteps of the assassination of Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, 63 who was shot dead by an undercover police officer shouting about the Syrian civil war and yelling out the infamous catch cry “Allahu Akbar”. Hours later the US Embassy reported an “ongoing security incident” outside the US embassy in Ankara, with reports of a shooting in the vicinity of the embassy. There is no reports available to suggest the incidents are related.
