Iconic Perth radio shock jock Howard Sattler died over the weekend at the age of 76 after a long illness. He was controversially sacked in 2013 from 6PR for asking then Prime Minister Julia Gillard if her partner Tim was gay. Bankrupt businessman, disqualified doctor and convicted criminal Geoffrey Edelsten died in Melbourne on Friday night at the age of 78. He was known for his marriages to younger women.

Metropolitan Melbourne is now in lockdown lite with masks still mandatory, a 25km travel limit, and visitors to private homes banned. Meanwhile, the mental health of Victorians continues to deteriorate especially of the youth with calls to the kids’ helpline surging this year.

Premier Dan Andrews through a video message said he would be back at work on June 28 after being on leave following his March 9 stairfall. The Age newspaper revealed on the weekend that the Andrews Government is secretly negotiating permanent pandemic laws with the three crossbenchers who’ve helped it pass its extensions to the state of emergency.

One of Victoria’s four Victorian political prisoners Neil Erikson was released from the defacto state gulag the Melbourne Assessment Prison on the weekend. Neil phones into the show to tell of his prison experience, he could soon be back as he has another upcoming trial for disturbing religious worship at a gay church in Melbourne in May 2019. Thomas Sewell will remain in prison until his trial for armed robbery, Neil says Thomas is writing a book about his current struggles.

The G7 world leaders met in Cornwall, England with Scott Morrison invited as a hangar on. Despite imposing social distancing restrictions on their populations during the pandemic the G7 leaders got very close to each other. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson pledged that not only will the G7 nations build back better, but greener, more equal and gender-neutral.
