I don’t think Labor is a centre party at all. Labor is being dragged ever leftward by the greens and Turnbull, not the Liberal party, is happy to chase them, effectively giving us 2 major left wing parties…

They are fighting each other for the centre while fending off minor parties trying to attract their base – One Nation in the case of the Liberal-Nationals and Greens in the case of Labor. Quite a juggling act.
