Marxists Insult Easter Traditions with Their Annual Conference

On the Easter long weekend those of the Christian faith memorialize the brutal crucifixion of their saviour of humanity, Jesus Christ, who was punished all for the crime of encouraging people to show love and compassion to one another. Christians believe that through this event Jesus died for our sins and Easter is the time for all of us, religious or not, to reflect on ways to better ourselves. This is represented by events and traditions that seek to give us moral and spiritual enrichment, such as the period of Lent, and here in Australia, by giving to the annual Good Friday Appeal.

Despite Easter’s message of love and compassion there is one group who fills this holiday period with hate: hatred for the West, Christianity and pretty much anything that seeks to conserve our values and heritage. The Socialist Alternative, famous for its violent rallies throughout Australia, holds its annual Marxism Conference this Easter weekend. It would appear they chose the Easter weekend for this conference to give the middle finger to Christianity.

If you don’t like the religion of love then they provide the option to worship the religion of Socialism this weekend. It is a religion which in one century alone caused the deaths of hundreds of millions of people, gave us some of the most brutal dictators the world had ever seen such as Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot, and was so disliked by the people trapped within its system they risked their lives to flee to the capitalist west. Their desire to escape the clutches of the left and have the lifestyle enjoyed by those in the West was what ultimately contributed to the downfall of communism.

Undeterred by these previous disasters, the Socialist Alternative wants to give it another go and believes this time if we have what they define as “proper socialism”, we will finally have a “utopia”. Though like many left-wing groups, they have reformulated their message to fit the 21st century and now speak the language of social justice warriors using the ideas of Frankfurt School by championing the plight of every alleged oppressed group you can think of.

According to the Socialist Alternative, Muslims only act violently because we are racist, and we should open up the floodgates to every person claiming to be a refugee. White people are also busy oppressing Indigenous people, men oppressing women, straights oppressing gays, rich oppressing poor, and so on. There are multiple sessions at this Conference dedicated to each of these groups.

The Conference is also dedicated to commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution in 1917 which was the beginning of the disasters of communism in the 20th century, yet the people at this conference still believe the event was a great historical event. The brutal murder of the Russian imperial family, the destruction of the Russian monarchy, the desecration of Russian culture, and the resulting deaths of tens of millions is, according to them, something to be celebrated.

We shouldn’t be surprised, they still believe that Cuba is an example of a successful socialist country (thanks to the foreign aid), however they tend not to say much on the current starvation of people in North Korea and Venezuela other than blurting out “it’s not real Socialism”.

It was quite ironic that the Socialist Alternative had the nerve to complain about their keynote speaker Palestinian activist Bassem Tamimi having his visa cancelled which they called an ‘’attack on free speech’’. These were most likely the same people who cheered when pro-life activist Troy Newman’s visa was cancelled in 2o15. I should note I am against cancelling people’s visa unless they openly promote violence or terrorism. These are the same people who defend the use of 18c to restrict free speech and would like to see even more hate speech laws. The point here concerns their hypocrisy in supporting free speech only for those they agree with, and violating the same right for those they don’t.

These are the same people who violently try to shut down other people’s rallies and events they disagree with instead of constructively debating their opponents. It is worth noting that their Marxist Conferences proceed without any security problems or counter protests. That is because we on the right believe in free speech, and our sense of maturity and intellectual tolerance means we do not violently obstruct or prevent their conferences.

Having said that we will still call out and criticise this conference for the abomination that it is. It is a call to destroy everything great about Western society and inflict upon us an era of poverty and primitivism. It is run by people consumed with so much hatred and insolence that they hold it on Easter weekend to insult our sacred traditions. While most people in this country are intelligent enough to do the right thing this weekend, such as spending time with family or performing religious duties, the Socialist Alternative has chosen to pursue a path of deviancy and to further their efforts at destroying their own country. The ideas of socialism should continue to lay on the scrapheap of history if humanity is to thrive and survive.

  • I don’t think holding the conference at Easter has anything to do with their attitude to Christianity. Friday and Monday are public holidays. Also I think it is part of their business model. They rely on recruiting university students during March, and getting them along to their annual Easter conference is part of the “socialization” process.

I fart at all of the socialist alternative values and piss on the graves of their precious unicorns of equality…

Jesus wasn’t punished for the crime of encouraging people to show love and compassion to one another. The Pharisees did not like it when Jesus showed compassion and love and healed on the Sabbath, true. But for them, that was a violation of the Fourth Commandment, to keep the Sabbath holy and not work on that day. In other words, it was about blasphemy. Blasphemy was the main reason the Pharisees thought Jesus deserved to die. They thought he did that a lot. They said he also claimed he was a king, which was enough of a reason for the secular Roman authorities finally to go ahead and put Jesus to death.

Socialism wants to delegitimize the Bible, particularly the part that they are having the hardest time delegitimizing, i.e. the Bible’s moral authority. They are throwing everything they can at that one. So I can see why they would choose to have this conference at Easter. Might just be a coincidence as Davis said, but I suspect the SA organizers are quite pleased to have their conference at Easter.

These Marxists are definitely fools, full of misdirected fervour.
