Hate Speech, Right Wing and Firearm Crackdown on Post Christchurch Agenda
Yesterday’s horrific twin mosque mass shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand with the perpetrator a 28 year old Australian white supremacist Brenton Tarant has seen the political left waste no time using the tragedy to their political advantage.
While they express their condolences to the victims at outrage at the voices of “hate” they realize they now have a window to implement an anti-freedom agenda against their political opponents. High on their agenda is gun control, hate speech laws and surveillance of the so called “far-right” or “extreme right”.
In Australia they are likely to have bipartisan support for fresh hate speech laws and right-wing surveillance with Prime Minister Scott Morrison already calling the killer a “right wing extremist terrorist” and expressed his solidarity with those of the Muslim faith.
The Morrison Government recently unveiled a federal Religious Discrimination Act which may now turn into a legal weapon to silence critics of Islam.
Bill Shorten stated today while speaking with the Islamic Council of Victoria that while “not all hate speech leads to right-wing extremist violence, all right-wing extremist violence begins with hate speech”. This sentiment has been echoed by other senior Labor figures such as Tony Burke.
Over in New Zealand they are posed to implement Australia’s strict gun laws and restrict access to semi-automatic weapons and shotguns with Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern telling the media this morning “While work has been done as to the chain of events that led to both the holding of this gun licence and the possession of these weapons, I can tell you one thing right now: our gun laws will change”.
Going back to Australia all major and minor parties have condemned Senator Fraser Anning’s statement on the mosque shootings where he said it was a consequence of mass Muslim migration to the west and it was a form of blowback for violence perpetrated by those of the Islamic faith.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison while attending the Lakemba mosque in Sydney today said “These comments are appalling and they’re ugly and they have no place in Australia. In the Australian Parliament also. And he should be, frankly, ashamed of himself”.
He added that Senator leaders Mathias Cormann and Penny Wong were working on bipartisan censure motion against Anning when parliament resumes in April.
The Melbourne meeting of Senator Fraser Anning’s new political party the Conservative Nationals went ahead as planned which was attended by local supporters including members of the Melbourne patriot scene. There was a small left wing counter protest outside.
One leftist made it inside the meeting and egged Senator Anning while he was holding a press conference. Anning hit back and both men were restrained. Police eventually arrived to eject the egg thrower who is now being celebrated by the far-left as a hero for assaulting a sitting Senator.

Also breaking this afternoon in the Fairfax press is that the Morrison Government has re-banned Milo Yiannopoulos from touring Australia in April as part of the Deplorables lineup in the wake of the Christchurch shooting.
If that report is correct then it means that tour would have to be cancelled as fellow speakers Gavin McInnes and Tommy Robinson would be banned for the same reasons.
It is clear that in a post-Christchurch world any criticism of Islam or mass third world migration is viewed as agreeing with the manifesto and violent acts of the shooter. In court today the Brenton Tarant displayed the alt-right ‘okay’ hand gesture popularized by various right wing figures.
The Unshackled and our New Zealand affiliate Right Minds have been accused of having blood on our hands for our critiques of Islam and immigration. We have always stated that peaceful community building, street activism and political engagement is what is needed to address the problems facing our nations.
The future is now look less free with our liberties set to be taken away. This is sadly always a consequence of terrorist attacks no matter who the perpetrator is. Big government and big brother will now be watching all of us. That is something none of us should want nor will it do any justice to the victims of this shooting.
