It was project veritas’ undercover reporting that has exposed Twitter’s open apathy for conservatives, recording one twitter employee saying their aim is to get “sh*tty people” off the platform by shadow banning them. A shadow ban is essentially when a person is able to use Twitter, but their followers do not see their tweets. James O’Keefe of Project Veritas talked us on the Front and Center Podcast for those who care to see it:

Donald Trump has apparently been made aware of the actions of the company and claims he will not stand for it any longer. In a tweet Donald Trump said, “Twitter “SHADOW BANNING” prominent Republicans. Not good. We will look into this discriminatory and illegal practice at once! Many complaints.”

Twitter makes use of an algorithm that targets conservative ideologies with keywords such as “American flag” and “guns” and ultimately downgrades the tweets, making them almost impossible to find, while outspoken and sometimes violent leftist accounts are left untouched. Donald Trump would be good to disallow these platforms from curbing communication how they see fit.
