I hope they put the embassy on Lubyanka Square. “a beacon for Californian culture in Russia and promoting tourism”–Sure, as the world’s 5th biggest economy and home to Hollywood, Disneyland, and Silicon Valley, not to mention 6 of the world’s top 20 universities, California definitely needs to raise its stature. BTW, when Russians ask where I am from, I always answer, “California”, which invariably gets a much more positive response than, “America.”
