THANKYOU FOR POINT 8. FINALLY SOMEONE IS LISTENING!
I’m a disabled shooter who is sick of being vilified and discriminated against by the lies perpetuated by the mainstream media and both sides of politics.
The 1 million licensed shooters in this country are sick-to-death of being compared to Martin Bryant. We are sick of being lectured to by people who don’t know Australia’s firearms laws and whose only knowledge of them is Hollywood. We are sick of being told we are potential criminals when we have to be the most law-abiding of all citizens to be granted a firearms licence. We are sick of being vilified by the biased media with their sensationalist headlines and dishonest reporting.
Right now the Libs are trying to ram a new NFA down our throats without ANY consultation with peak shooting bodies: more pointless restrictions that will do NOTHING to curb street thugs from shooting up the neighbourhood or illegal unlicensed handguns being imported. 1 million licensed Aussie shooters have had a gut full of this crap.

I agree with all of these bar one. Euthenasia – We put our beloved animals down out of kindness and common sense, and it is the will of the people. No one has any right to tell me when and how i can leave this earth if i get the choice, and i rather have the option of doing it with quiet dignity not a bloody bullet where my family has to scrape me off the wall to put me in my box. With or without it people will choose death. It is their right. Hands off! You get your guns?.. We get our choice to die with dignity. Don’t be a Nanny. Defunding the leftist is the primal number one. And 18C. They are all good. Yes yes yes! Where do i sign.

I agree with almost all these points but I don’t think the government ought to help produce high end dramas, film and documentaries. Australian films are usually second rate, and the ABC is a sheltered workshop; the good films and TV shows made in Australia or on the ABC are made by directors who have a particularly high skill, who would do well with or without govt. money. High-skilled people may get hired by Hollywood anyway.

Agree about de-funding or getting rid of arts councils. A sure sign of a substandard book is the Australia Council logo inside the front cover. Things have changed in the world of books. If one wants to write and publish a book in this day and age, then one has no barriers to do so other than time and motivation. Neither of which are problems which can be solved with donations of Commonwealth money.
