But your argument also exposes the ‘Achilles Heel’ of CN – that it must be taught and/or embraced by all if it’s to work and that it can be weaponised against the nation (black armband) if the education process is subverted to that purpose.

And that’s precisely what’s happened.

Ethnic nationalism is not vulnerable to this kind of subversion. I agree that EN lacks some of the high ideals of CN but when survival is at stake…
