Jesus wasn’t punished for the crime of encouraging people to show love and compassion to one another. The Pharisees did not like it when Jesus showed compassion and love and healed on the Sabbath, true. But for them, that was a violation of the Fourth Commandment, to keep the Sabbath holy and not work on that day. In other words, it was about blasphemy. Blasphemy was the main reason the Pharisees thought Jesus deserved to die. They thought he did that a lot. They said he also claimed he was a king, which was enough of a reason for the secular Roman authorities finally to go ahead and put Jesus to death.

Socialism wants to delegitimize the Bible, particularly the part that they are having the hardest time delegitimizing, i.e. the Bible’s moral authority. They are throwing everything they can at that one. So I can see why they would choose to have this conference at Easter. Might just be a coincidence as Davis said, but I suspect the SA organizers are quite pleased to have their conference at Easter.

These Marxists are definitely fools, full of misdirected fervour.

I don’t think holding the conference at Easter has anything to do with their attitude to Christianity. Friday and Monday are public holidays. Also I think it is part of their business model. They rely on recruiting university students during March, and getting them along to their annual Easter conference is part of the “socialization” process.
