Show Description
On this week’s review show we are joined once again by Co-Editor in Chief of The Unshackled Sukith Fernando. The big story right now is of course that the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy narrative is back and has now been turbocharged by the mainstream media. This follows Trump’s decision last week to fire FBI Director James Comey and Trump’s meeting at the White House with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak. This week there were two deep state leaks to mainstream media, the first alleged that Trump shared classified information in his meeting with the Russians and that he tried to shut down an FBI probe into his former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

We highlight that Trump was justified in firing Comey given that he had turned the FBI into a circus over the botched investigation into Hillary’s email server and point out there is still zero evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians. We also point out it was sensible for Trump share intelligence related to fighting terrorism with the Russians. We also express our concern that it appears with the media now talking about impeaching Trump that they are now orchestrating a campaign to remove a democratically elected President they don’t like.

In Australia politics we follow up on the latest post budget developments. Despite delivering a Labor budget the Turnbull government has failed to receive a bounce it the polls which has fueled further leadership speculation. We lament that the poll patterns most likely show that the Coalition government no matter who the leader is already be doomed at the next election despite a budget that betrayed many conservative values to win votes. We also highlight the recent ludicrous statements by two of Australia’s leading regressives, Gillian Triggs who claimed to criticism Yassmin Abdel-Magied for her ANZAC day remarks was racist. Yassmin herself had recently claimed that corporate diversity could have prevented the BP Oil Spill.
