One of Australian politics’ longest running sagas same sex marriage was finally resolved with the results of the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey, yes responses were 7.8 million or 61.6% of the total vote and no responses were 4.8 million or 38.4% of the total vote with participation at 79.5% of eligible electors. It was a decisive victory of the yes campaign which leads one to wonder why they opposed the vote every step of the way. Malcolm Turnbull has promised to pass same sex marriage before Christmas. It appears we will only have limited religious protections and parental rights included as in Canberra there as been almost a complete capitulation of conservative lobbying for such protection. Certainly not all is lost for the no side as excesses of the LGBT agenda such as the Safe Schools Program can still be opposed.

Looking at the results in detail many people were quick to notice that out of the 17 electorates that voted no 12 were in Western Sydney and 9 are held by Labor. All of them have large migrant populations which again should shatter the left’s utopia that the twin goals of multiculturalism and LGBT rights can be achieved in a western country. Meanwhile it was predominately white areas that voted yes including most of rural and regional Australia. The Labor MPs whose electorates voted no have vowed to still vote for the legislation when it comes before the parliament proving it might be a bit awkward for them, but then again 71 of 76 Coalition electorates voted yes.

Mark Latham was before the federal court this week as he is being sued by Junkee’s Osman Farqui. Latham on his Rebel Media show accused Farqui of anti-white racism and supporting terrorism, Latham was clearly using hyperbole when calling Farqui’s actions terrorism and back and forth between journalists of different politics is common. Latham claims it is warfare designed to destroy his media platform, this is another example of how the left is against free speech and imagine if everybody sued someone who had said something mean about them our legal system would clogged to no end.

In Zimbabwe the military staged a coup which looks to be the end for 93 year old dictator Robert Mugabe. His regime had led to economic ruin, displaced white farmers and persecuted his political enemies. Our only hope is that he is replaced with someone better however the head of military only recently visited China so many have speculated that the coup was undertaken at the behest of the Chinese who want to extract that nation’s natural resources. We discuss whether the disaster of Zimbabwe over the past 37 years was the result of taking revenge against the white minority or part of the Marxist influence of the party of Mugabe.
