Trump Gets Serious About Stopping Islamism in the United States
The left is still shocked that President Trump is implementing his promises during the Presidential campaign. His latest action they are outraged about is his executive order on barring travel to the United States from seven countries which currently have large Islamist movements for the next 90 days while suspending all admissions of refugees to the United States for the next 120 days.
Left wing protestors and lawyers have already descended on New York’s JFK Airport to protest this new executive order claiming it is un-American and discriminatory. A federal activist judge has granted a stay on deportations of any persons from these nations who has just arrived in United States and has been barred from entering the country.
The mainstream media has been all too happy to provide sympathetic coverage to protesters and paint Trump’s actions as mean and heartless. Even major corporations such as Apple are joining the condemnation with CEO Tim Cook stating “Apple would not exist without immigration, let alone thrive and innovate the way we do.’’
All these critics of this executive order are trying to make us all forget the reason why Trump has taken this action, the west including the United States is under siege from Islamic terrorism along with the creeping Islamization of western nations including the practice of sharia law in various western cities.
The United States over the past two years alone has had the San Bernardino attack, the Orlando nightclub shooting, the failed New York/New Jersey bombing and the Ohio State University attack. If we go over to Europe the list of terror attacks during this period is endless with major Islamist terror attacks in Brussels, Paris, Nice and Berlin.
Many citizens in the west are rightly afraid of the growing risk of terrorism on their streets, not to mention of course the growing body count from these attacks. Europe is the most at risk thanks to its open-door immigration policy which has seen millions of migrants from the Middle East descend into European nations, many of whom have been responsible for not just terror attacks but various other acts of physical and sexual violence.
Logic would therefore conclude that if you don’t let these people into your countries, you will get less occurrence of these events or at least stem the current upward trend of them. President Trump has applied this logic to the United States with this travel ban, in fact naming only seven countries is too few as other countries with Islamist influences such as Saudi Arabia were omitted.
Left wing politicians and activists have been busy tweeting photos of injured children in the Syrian conflict asking how could you ban them? Many people have rightly responded by showing images of dead children in western countries killed by Islamist terror attacks asking why do you want this to continue happening?
Donald Trump is President of United States; therefore, it is his job to look after the interests of citizens of that country. This was his platform during the campaign and in his inauguration address, he said he would put America First. Making sure Americans are not blown up by Islamists or victims of attacks by immigrants is rightly a priority for him. These people crying about this migration ban are basically saying that they want the President to look after people on the other side of the world and govern in a globalist manner and disregard the welfare of the American people.
It is quite a coincidence that just after Trump signed this executive order the mainstream media is now reporting that the Syrian government is currently planning a genocide of cities where rebels are located. This is clearly a propaganda effort by the media to put pressure on Trump to resume taking in refugees from Syria. Never mind the fact that the Russians liberated Aleppo from Islamist rebels and most citizens in that city celebrated the defeat of the rebels.
Another interesting argument by the left is that the United States bombs these countries but won’t allow citizens of those countries to flee to the United States. This is a bizarre argument given that just last month they were begging for the United States to intervene in the Syrian conflict by dropping bombs, but I guess because Obama was President then it would have been called a humanitarian campaign. This argument also omits the fact that Trump does not want to get involved in any more Middle Eastern conflicts and who’s only interest in intervention in the Middle East is taking out ISIS targets.
It should also be emphasized that this travel ban and refugee suspension is only temporary until the United States can better screen who is coming into the country to ensure the safety of American citizens. The Secretaries of State and Homeland Security can also grant a person travelling from those countries to the United States an exemption if they are a proven US ally. It does not affect permanent US residents who are from those countries either.
It should also be emphasised that nobody has the right to travel to the United States, entry into that country is a privilege not a right. The American people should be allowed to decide who comes into their country either as travellers or potential citizens. Having open borders enforced on them is another undemocratic globalist action.
Obviously in the coming months there will be more permanent action by the Trump administration to stop the Islamist infiltration of their immigration program. But this executive order is an important first step and once again shows Trump is serious about tackling America’s problems and keeping his word to the American people.
