When the leftist media ratchets up the cries of widespread racism, sexism or any other type of bigotry in Australia, we who believe in an open society should interpret it one way: we are beginning to win the fight against political correctness and leftist regressives. When leftists are criticised, and have their arguments defeated, they believe it must not be because their arguments are weak, but of course must be because of awful bigotry.

The Saturday Paper (owned by left wing businessman Morry Schwartz whose publishing company struggles to turn a profit) had its editorial titled this weekend ‘Race to the bottom’. It starts off in typical butthurt leftist fashion calling Australian unwell, full off metastatic racism and that the vestiges of the White Australia Policy never left us.

It cites as proof the Australian Nationalist Pokémon Posters put around Sydney mocking Yassmin Abdel-Magied and Waleed Aly, as well as highlighting the African crime wave and communist China buying up Australian property. Also, apparently Rowan Dean’s advice to Australia’s new basher-in-chief, Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane that if it was so awful here why didn’t he “hop on a plane and go back to Laos”. It also mentions media commentator Prue McSweeney who, while expressing her dislike of Yassmin, joked if she saw her on the street she would “be tempted to run her over”.

Another leftist media outlet Junkee published an article by Osman Faruqi titled ‘All the Times Australia Was Enormously Racist This Week’. It also mentions the Australian Nationalist Posters, Rowan Dean’s advice to Tim Soutphommasane as well as the now removed Channel Seven Poll asking if people supported Yassmin’s decision to move to London (The Unshackled in the interests of free speech launched our own Yassmin poll). Not even the left-wing Age was politically correct enough because they described the prominence of yellow bikes in Melbourne as “Yellow peril”.

If you read these articles, you would think that no white person was ever criticised by people on the right. They omitted the fact that one of the targets of the Nationalist Pokémon posters was Sarah Hanson-Young (a white person), one of this nation’s leading regressives has been Gillian Triggs, and in case you think it’s only white women being criticised Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is certainly another prominent Australian regressive.

The left will never seem to absorb the fact that the reason people dislike Waleed, Yassmin and Soutphommasane is because they paint a negative view of Australia, the nation that has offered them more opportunities than they would have had in the nation of their ancestry. Not to mention the arguments they put forward, for example that Islam is feminist religion, do not pass the fact or logic test.

They are criticised for their stupidity and their nihilism, not their race. Australians are people who like to be left alone to live their lives and live in cohesive and safe community, they of course don’t take too kindly to be insulted with unsubstantiated accusations of bigotry or claims that their nation is built on racism.

It also doesn’t cross the minds of these leftists that there are people on the right who are not white, for example the Co-Editor in Chief of the Unshackled Sukith Fernando. More prominent non-white conservatives are Tanveer Ahmed and Rita Panahi, these people certainly don’t feel they are discriminated against in Australia for their skin colour or excluded from the right-wing movement.

But it’s clear from these editorials that the left fear they are losing their influence. They are finding it more difficult to shut people up with cries of racism. Australians are not so easily intimidated by such baseless slurs against them and will not lay down and surrender their nation and freedoms to a bunch of regressives who want to impoverish them and open up the borders for anyone to come in.

It is pleasing that Australians are now making their voices heard, but sadly our politicians are still not listening. Malcolm Turnbull will still accept awards for Australia’s open immigration policy or give out grants for Muslim AFL competitions. But alternatives to the major parties such as Pauline Hanson’s One Nation and Cory Bernardi’s Australian Conservatives are beginning to gain steam.

Once enough citizens of a nation have had enough of political correctness, identity politics and other leftist policies, change will prevail as we saw with the election of Donald Trump in the United States. Let’s hope the leftist media becomes more unhinged in Australia with their accusations of racism and bigotry, as it shows we are beginning to have an impact and it’s about time.
